capable of completing successfully in order to build a sense of self-
efficacy. In addition, Jason will need structured practice and in-
vivo feedback regarding ways to respond to teasing and rough play
from peers.

In home, we encourage parents improve functional and pragmatic
communication skills, social interaction with adults and peers,
independence with activities of daily living, and behavior regulation.
ABA provider should provide parent education service and consultation
with the mother to establish and monitor an appropriate home program
which she can continue throughout the rest of the week. In addition,
naturalistic behavioral strategies such as Pivotal Response Training
and Incidental Teaching can be incorporated to provide multiple
examples of new concepts and promote generalization of these skills
to other environments.

Coordination of Goals and strategies across providers: Arrange
regular team meetings between parents and providers to monitor
Jason's progress and to make adjustments in his program as necessary.
Coordination of educational and therapeutic goals will ensure that
opportunities for generation can be provided on an ongoing basis in
the classroom, home, and community settings.
Jason's mother has
already gone through extensive training and has a high level of
knowledge regarding best practice for children with ASD, as well as
excellent instinct regarding Jason's individual needs, therefore
parent should remain highly involved in planning for appropriate
programming and all treatment decisions should be carefully
coordinated with the parents.

Reevaluation: Jason should be reevaluated in 1-2 years' time to
assess progress and update treatment recommendations. He should be
seen by a psychologist specializing in autism spectrum disorders.
